What a year. It’s dizzying to think of everything I made in my kitchen (and other’s people’s kitchens) in 2023. I can never describe my cooking in a word or theme, but I can tell you I have cool clients who trust me to create unique menus. There was no shortage of snacky bites, hot dogs, sandwiches, and cheese. Last year, I promised myself to explore more seafood and I plan to keep it in my weekly rotation. I’m also letting go of the “I’m not a baker!!” mantra. It turns out that I can bake. I accomplished a long-term goal of making my own bread for the return of random sandwiches—which I was very nervous to bring back into the world. Through cookbook testing, I learned a lot about plant-based eating and Vietnamese cookery.
To everyone who ate my experiments, thank you. Here’s to more communal eating, cookbooks, and knowledge sharing 🥂
