Craft Services for GUSSY (2022)
Client: Breanne Thomas, Producer
Event: Craft Service for 12
In October of 2020, I provided craft service meals to a small film crew shooting 3 overnights in the Catskills. We drove from Brooklyn to set up camp (literally) at Hemlock Falls. I was able to create an outdoor kitchen and grill most of our meals. The challenge was to flip my sleep schedule so that our first meal of the day was dinner at 5pm, lunch at midnight, and breakfast at 4am.
GUSSY was an official selection of the Champs-Élysées Film Festival, Fantasia International Film Festival, Telluride Horror Show, and screened at The Museum of Modern Art (among many other honors). You can watch the trailer here.
Goodwill Ugly Sweater Party, 2019
Catering Client: Goodwill NY/NJ
Event: Nonprofit Fundraiser for 80 guests
In 2019, I got to work with the Goodwill store located in the Flatiron neighborhood on an Ugly Sweater holiday fundraiser. Guests were able to browse the store for ugly sweaters, snack on cheese, and grab a spiked hot chocolate from the bar.
Rachel's Hoppin' Baby Shower Tea Party, 2019
Client: Private Residence
Event: Baby Shower for 20 guests
I was incredibly touched to coordinate my high school best friend’s baby shower in Valencia, California with her mom Rebekah. On a sunny October day, we threw a Peter Rabbit-themed tea party for Rachel in the home of a family friend. Highlights were dozens of homemade scones with lemon curd from scratch as well as many finger sandwiches and crostini. Special thanks to my parents and early guests for helping me load up the car and assembling many little sandwiches! All of my produce was sourced from the Los Angeles Farmer’s Market.
Holidays At Community Bookstore, 2019
Catering Client: Community Bookstore
Event: Holiday snacks for 30 guests
For the last couple of years prior to the pandemic, I’ve been invited to cater the Community Bookstore latke party in Park Slope. It’s a lovely little tradition with the staff to celebrate the end of the year. Be sure to support this independent bookshop by ordering online or at the door. Maybe you will see Tiny the Usurper (one of the more elusive staff members, pictured above).
Meat Rivers for Ally and Colin
Catering Client: Allison and Colin
Event: Wedding dinner for 100 guests
My friend Celeste introduced me to Allison and Colin, who were getting married in October of 2019. It made me so happy when Allison pulled out a folder to show me the layout of the venue. We had a fun time talking about their upbringings and the foods they loved the most. We were working a wealth of inspiration from their favorite restaurants like Xi’an Famous Foods, Morgon, and Petee’s Pie Company to Chinese-Cuban as well as Pennsylvanian childhoods.
Unique to this wedding was our congee bar where guests had the freedom to mash up the Chinese and Cuban ingredients any which way they wanted. Congee or arroz caldo in the Philippines is something that I grew up eating whenever I was sick, so I was eager to make this happen. Between the Matrix quotes and karaoke in the basement, we had a fun time dancing to sets by DJ Chico Chi, the bride’s brother. Guests were sent off into the lovely Williamsburg fall night with Philly pretzels in hand.

Craft Services for Francis Cone
My friends Francis Cone were shooting a music video at The Topaz in 2016. I whizzed by that morning for their early call time with breakfast burritos and enough snacks to get them through lunch.

Blue Plate (2018)
In 2018, I put together an exhibition called MASARAP at Babycastles Gallery. Masarap is Tagalog for 'delicious.’ I used this two-week takeover to explore the complicated origins of comfort food as well as the ways we play with what we eat. Read about it here.

BLUE PLATE is a frustrating and confusing experience. Delectable food porn plays on the table in front of you and you’re unable to pick up the fork to enjoy it. At first, it’s enjoyable to watch. You can touch the place where the plates appear but you cannot eat it.
Will it provoke you to seek out that specific dish? Will it make you hungry? How will you relieve this stress?
BLUE PLATE is…
Small projector pointing downward
108 crowdsourced food porn videos from Eggcentennial and Super Nacho Bowl
Tablecloth
Fork and knife
Glue
